IATA Diversity & Inclusion Awards

Ten million people work in the aviation industry to make this happen. It is important that this workforce reflects the amazing diversity and inclusion that it fosters in our society. The IATA Diversity & Inclusion Awards, sponsored by Qatar Airways, aim to recognize and celebrate the great work that is being done to take the industry into the future.

Three awards to recognize three categories of leadership in diversity and inclusion

  • Inspirational Role Model:  Will be presented to a woman (30+) who holds a senior position within the industry who has had a significant impact on the aviation agenda through her strong contribution to business delivery, as well as her ongoing support of the gender diversity agenda. Open to all female participants in the aviation industry.
  • Young High Flyer: Designed to recognize one of aviation’s women under-30 who has started to develop her career, and thought leadership in the industry through her inspirational work. Open to all under-30 female participants in the aviation industry.
  • Diversity & Inclusion Team Award: Designed to recognize an airline that has seen a tangible change in their diversity as a result of the work it has been doing in diversity and inclusion. Open to all IATA member airlines.


Each award category comes with US$25,000 in prize money, generously funded by Qatar Airways. The awards will be presented at the 75fth IATA Annual General Meeting in Seoul, 1-3 June 2019.

Is there a person or a team that you want to recognize?  Nominate them now.  All you need to do is write a short text outlining why they're a worthy winner, and submit an original video, 2-3 minutes, in English or with subtitles which describes in more detail why you are nominating the person/team for the award.  Nothing complicated, we just need you to explain - in a video - why you are nominating this person. Applications without original video or with a pre-recorded TV documentary will not be accepted. Submissions are open until 7 April (extended from initial date which was 31 March).
